ロンドンを拠点とする新進気鋭のファッション・レーベルであり、クリエイティブ・ハウスでもあるYenesaiが、オルタナティヴ・ポップ・ミュージシャンのYves Tumor (イヴ・トゥモア)を日本に招き、東京と京都でDJプレイを披露する。
Yves Tumorは、Warp Recordsからリリースされ、高い評価を得た最新アルバム『Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds)』を引っ提げたワールド・ツアーを終えたばかり。彼らのDJセットは、レコードと同様に予測不可能で、サウンド的にも冒険的だ。
イギリスのブリストル出身のNiall Ashleyは、以前はLlainwireとして知られ、2023年にシーンに登場し、トラップに隣接したヴォーカルとモーションキャプチャーのデジタル世界をブレンドしたオーディオビジュアルを創り出した。Niall Ashleyはより幅広いジャンルとソングライティングのパレットを活用し、パッチを当ててアップデートしたものだ。
Yenesaiの名前は、世界最長の川のひとつであり、数千年の歴史を持つ遊牧民文化の伝統的な生命維持システムであるYenesai(イェネセイ)川から取った。
Yenesaiは衣料品だけでなく、同じ志を持つ旅行者のためのコミュニティでもある。サルデーニャでのリトリートや東京でのイベントのように、イエネッサイ・ファミリーは様々な活動をしているクリエイターを受け入れ、彼らを結びつけている。これらのスペースはコラボレーションを促進し、Yenesaiが芸術的アウトプットの境界線を押し広げることを可能にしている。
Emerging London based fashion label and creative house Yenesai bring maverick alternative pop musician Yves Tumor to Japan to DJ in Tokyo and Kyoto, accompanied by a live performance by UK newcomer Niall Ashley and support from DJs TBA.
Yves Tumor is fresh off a world tour in support of their most recent album, 2023’s critically acclaimed ‘Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds)’ released on Warp Records. Their DJ sets are as unpredictable and sonically adventurous as their records.
Niall Ashley, originally from Bristol, UK, was previously known as Llainwire, and broke onto the scene in 2023, creating audiovisual blends of trap-adjacent vocals, and motion capture digital worlds. Niall Ashley is a patched and updated continuation harnessing a wider palette of genre and songwriting.
Yenesai draws its name from the river Yenisey, one of the world's longest and the traditional life support system for a plethora of millennia-old nomadic cultures.
Beyond clothing, Yenesai is a community for like-minded travelers. Its family accommodates creatives from a variety of practices and brings them together, like at their Sardinia retreat or their previous Tokyo events. These spaces facilitate collaboration and allow Yenesai to push the boundaries of artistic output.
