- Kikagaku Moyo
We are pleased to present a tour poster exhibition of Kikagaku Moyo, a psychedelic rock band that has sold out large-scale festivals and venues with a capacity of several thousand people, and announced an indefinite hiatus at the height of their popularity.
In Japan, the band's performance at the Fuji Rock Festival last year drew a huge response, and their two sold-out Tokyo shows in winter were followed by a tour of the same name in spring and fall.
- Tsubame Studio
The venue, Tsubame Studio, is a recording studio where Kikagaku Moyo has recorded many of their works from their debut to their last album. Last year, the studio moved to its current location in Nihonbashi-Kodenmacho, and a new floor for enjoying art and music was established on the lower floor of the studio. This exhibition will be the opening of the new space.
- About the Poster Exhibition
The exhibition will feature nearly 50 posters created for the band's tours in the United States since 2016, as well as for their tours in Europe and Japan.
In some cases, the artists are commissioned directly by the band members, regardless of where they live, while in other cases, the promoter of a show in a certain city commissioned local artists who live in that area.
The posters themselves are made in a variety of sizes, some were hand-printed and numbered by the artists themselves as multi-print silkscreens, and others were offset prints created together with the artists by the printing house staff, who carefully prepared the print and selected the inks and papers. Each one was a spectacular work of art.
You can feel the excitement created by the artists, the printers, the promoters, and the fans who look forward to the show, all responding to the music and attitude of the band.
