2021年にリリースしたソロ・デビュー・アルバム『A Plane Over Woods』がロングセラー。カフェやギャラリーなどで既に耳にした事のある人も沢山いらっしゃると思います。最新作の『UNDER a FAMILIAR SUN』は、ヒップホップの影響やサンプリングを活用した手法を取り入れた実験的且つ、The Vernon Spirngのピアノ・コンポジションを全編に渡って貫き通した作品となっていて、2025年の重要な作品の1枚といっても過言ではありません。

The Vernon Spring：
A solo project by Sam Beste — an artist, composer, pianist, and producer born in North London and currently based in Brighton, UK. He began his career at the young age of 17 when he was selected as the touring pianist for Amy Winehouse's world tour. He is also a member of the London-based alternative soul trio Hejira, and has participated in works by artists such as MF DOOM and Herbert.
A seasoned multi-instrumentalist, his background spans a wide range of genres and collaborations.
His solo debut album, A Plane Over Woods, released in 2021, became a long-selling success. In the same year, he released What’s Going On, a response to Marvin Gaye’s iconic album of the same name, marking its 50th anniversary. In 2025, he released his latest album Under a Familiar Sun, a work that gained critical acclaim for its innovative approach of expanding serene piano music through hip-hop-inspired techniques. The album established him as a rising talent in the ambient music scene.
