Oh what a beautiful mornin’!
B.W. Broadway Musical Circleによる英語ミュージカルの定期公演も、はや9回目となりました。
今回上演いたしますOklahoma!は典型的なアメリカン・ミュージカルとして知られており、ピューリッツァー賞やトニー賞も受賞しています。演劇・歌・ダンスを一体化させ、現代ミュージカルの形を作り上げるもととなった作品でもあり、単なるエンターテイメントだけでなく、キャラクターの個性やストーリーの流れも表す奥深さを持った歌やダンスを楽しんでいただけることでしょう。
Oklahoma!は新しい土地・州・国家を作るために一致団結して働く開拓者の断固とした精神を表現した物語です。
舞台はオクラホマが州としての地位を得る前夜の西部フロンティア。うぬぼれ屋のカウボーイ・カーリーと快活な農場の娘・ローリーが繰り広げるラブストーリーに加え、地元農民とカウボーイの激しい対立が物語に色彩豊かな背景を与えてくれます。ローリーをものにするためには何をもいとわない強烈な印象のアウトサイダー、更なる波乱を呼ぶ恋愛劇、壮大かつ革新的なダンスに美しい音楽…刺激的で最高の時間を過ごせること間違いなしです！
Oklahoma!の特徴は不朽のクラシック音楽。’’Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’’’、‘’The Surrey with the Fringe On Top’’、‘’I Cain’t Say No’’、‘’People Will Say We’re in Love’’などに加え、もちろん代表曲は’’Oklahoma!’’！
本公演は英語で上演されますが、当日お渡しするプログラムにはあらすじや人物相関図などが日本語で記載されています。
公演は全4回です。各公演によって開始時間が異なりますのでご注意ください。

学生の方は学生証などの身分証をお持ちの上、公演当日、受付の際にチケットとともに係員にご提示ください。
Oklahoma!はご家族でのご鑑賞にもおすすめの作品です。しかし、銃使用やバーで働く女の子たち、暴力や死の表現を含みますことをご了承ください。また、他のお客様のことも考慮し、推奨年齢は8歳以上とさせていただきます。親子でご鑑賞の際は、お子様のチケットに加え保護者様全員分のチケットが必要となります。

The students of Ryukoku University are proud to present their ninth annual musical in English!
Known as the quintessential American musical, Oklahoma! is a Pulitzer Prize and Tony award winning musical that is one of the best known and most loved musicals of all time. This is the show that created the modern musical by integrating acting, singing, and dancing into a unified whole. The songs and dances reveal character and story rather than just being entertainment.
Oklahoma! is a story about the pioneering, determined spirit of people who worked together to build a new land, a new State and a new country.
Set in the western frontier on the eve of Oklahoma being granted Statehood, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a confident cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Throw in an intense outsider willing to give up everything to make Laurey his own, another tumultuous romance, magnificent groundbreaking choreography and one of the most beautiful musical scores ever written and you’re sure to have a rip-roaring good time!
Oklahoma! features the timeless classics, “Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin'”, “The Surrey With The Fringe On Top”, “I Cain't Say No”, “People Will Say We're In Love” and of course the triumphant “Oklahoma!”
The show is in English. A detailed guide in Japanese is provided in the program.
There will be four performances. (Please notes the different times for each day.)
Fri Feb 7 at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.)
Sat Feb 8 at 1 p.m. (doors open at 12:30)
Sat Feb 8 at 5:30 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.)
Sun Feb 9 at 3 p.m. (doors open at 2:30 p.m.)
The show runs for approximately 2 hours and 55 minutes including an intermission.

“Oklahoma!” is uplifting and family friendly. However, the show includes gunshots, saloon girls, fighting and two deaths. In consideration of other audience members, the show is recommended for ages 8 and up. All patrons must have a ticket.
Five percent of gross ticket sales will be donated to the Kyoto-based disaster relief organization IDRO, which consists entirely of volunteers.
