サリフ・ケイタ
「アフリカの黄金の声」として知られているサリフ・ケイタは、西アフリカの伝統と、キューバ、スペイン、ポルトガル、中東の影響を融合させた独自の音楽スタイルを持っている。 KYOTOPHONIEでは、室町時代に創建された禅寺・光明院の座敷で、重森三玲作庭の日本庭園を臨みながら、ケイタがアコースティック演奏を初披露する。聴衆はその日本庭園を取り囲むように立てられた建物から、ケイタの魅惑的な声とギター、ンゴニ（西アフリカのギター）とひょうたんで作られたパーカッションの音が奏でるグルーヴを聴く。
Salif Keita
Known around the world as “The Golden Voice of Africa,” Salif Keita’s unique sound blends the traditional styles of his West African homeland with influences from Cuba, Spain, Portugal, and the Middle East. Keita will be playing his first acoustic concert in a tatami room that looks out to a hidden Japanese garden in the backyards of Komyo-in, a temple founded in the Muromachi period. The concert will be joined by an audience of stones in the landscape, which will echo Keita's mesmerizing voice and guitar, accompanied by the sounds of the ngoni (West African guitar) and Calabash percussions.
ルーカス・サンタナ from the NØ FØRMAT! Label
1970年、サルヴァドール・ダ・バイーア生まれ。父親のロベルト・サンタナは、トロピカリスタス（ジルベルト・ジル、カエターノ・ヴェロー ゾ、サンタナの叔父にあたるトン・ゼー）を手がけた伝説的な音楽プロデューサー。 ルーカスはボサノバにポップス、ファンク、エレクトロなどの影響を受けた音楽を作曲する。左翼的な政治的コミットメントが彼のテキストに表れていることで注目されている。先達に呼ばれ Tropicalia 2とGilberto Gil Unpluggedに参加した後、シコ・サイエンスやナサォン・ズンビ（マンギタウン）のエレクトロ・ロックにも参加した。2000年に自身のファースト・アルバム「Eletro Ben Dodô」をリリース。マリーザ・モンチ、ダニエラ・メルクリ、セウなどMPBのスターたちに曲を提供し続けている。
Lucas Sattana, from the NØ FØRMAT! Label
Born 1970 in Salvador de Bahia, son of Roberto Sant’Ana, legendary producer of the Tropicalistas (Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso and Santtana’s uncle, Tom Zé). His musical compositions mix bossa nova with pop, funk and electro influences. He is noticed for his left-wing political commitment that shines through in his texts. Lucas Santtana was called upon by his elders to play on Gilberto Gil Unplugged and Tropicalia 2, before braving the electro-rock of Chico Science and Naçao Zumbi (Manguetown). In 2000, he released his first album, “Eletro Ben Dodô,”whilst continuing to write songs for the stars of MPB, from Marisa Monte to Daniela Mercury, Céu etc.

KYOTOPHONIEは、KYOTOGRAPHIE京都国際写真祭の精神に基づき、新たに立ち上げた国際的なボーダレスミュージックフェスティバルです。 ワールドミュージック・現代音楽・クラシック・電子音楽・ストリートミュージック… 様々なジャンルを超え、国境も超えた素晴らしい音楽のライブ演奏を京都の特別な空間で体験する、そんな音楽祭を目指しています。 長いパンデミックの間に日常化してしまったメタバースの世界から外に出て、全身の感覚を震わせるような生の音楽体験をすることで、人間らしさを取り戻す機会を創出します。
KYOTOPHONIE is a Borderless Music Festival that offers a wide diversity of genres, from world music, jazz, electro to classic and many more. It crosses styles, programs and modes of presentation through interpretations and collaborations. The Spring sessions bring people together to experience music not commonly available ‘live’ in Japan. In most cases, the musicians will perform in formats crafted especially for the Kyoto audience and venues - some developing premier pieces to be shown first in KYOTOPHONIE and only accessed in Kyoto. Locations include temples dating back to the Muromachi period, modern spaces, immaculate gardens, iconic Kyoto Clubs, and more to be announced.
