1998年、HOSOO GALLERYのディレクターである細尾真孝、近藤忠によって京都で結成された音楽ユニット。当時より日本の最先端のエレクトロニカシーンを牽引した音楽レーベルPROGRESSIVE FORMに所属し、京都のクラブシーンを中心に活動を行う。 2003年、それぞれの専門性を高めるために活動を休止。 12年の時を経て、2016年、国際的に活躍する現代美術作家・八木良太を迎え、再結成。それぞれの専門性を活かして、音楽、アート、クラフトが融合したかつてない音楽体験を創り出す
EUTRO
Music unit formed in Kyoto in 1998 by Masataka Hosoo, director of the Hosoo Gallery, and Tadashi Kondo. Belonging to PROGRESSIVE FOrM, the leading, cutting-edge music label of Japan’s electronica scene from then till now, EUTRO were active mainly in Kyoto’s club scene. After suspending their activities in 2003, the group reunited in 2016 with internationally-acclaimed contemporary artist, Lyota Yagi. They draw on their respective expertise to create an unprecedented musical experience that fuses music, art and craft.

KYOTOPHONIEは、KYOTOGRAPHIE京都国際写真祭の精神に基づき、新たに立ち上げた国際的なボーダレスミュージックフェスティバルです。 ワールドミュージック・現代音楽・クラシック・電子音楽・ストリートミュージック… 様々なジャンルを超え、国境も超えた素晴らしい音楽のライブ演奏を京都の特別な空間で体験する、そんな音楽祭を目指しています。 長いパンデミックの間に日常化してしまったメタバースの世界から外に出て、全身の感覚を震わせるような生の音楽体験をすることで、人間らしさを取り戻す機会を創出します。
KYOTOPHONIE is a Borderless Music Festival that offers a wide diversity of genres, from world music, jazz, electro to classic and many more. It crosses styles, programs and modes of presentation through interpretations and collaborations. The Spring sessions bring people together to experience music not commonly available ‘live’ in Japan. In most cases, the musicians will perform in formats crafted especially for the Kyoto audience and venues - some developing premier pieces to be shown first in KYOTOPHONIE and only accessed in Kyoto. Locations include temples dating back to the Muromachi period, modern spaces, immaculate gardens, iconic Kyoto Clubs, and more to be announced.
