World Championship Qualification Round and Finals Tournament: 4 to 6 members
・Please form your team on your own. JMA does not get involved in team establishment.
・A team of 4 members requires all 4 to play.
・A team of 5 or 6 members can change players for each set and must play with 4 members.
・A team of 7 or more members is not accepted to entry.

Entry Qualification: Team members belong to an IMO member nation (except for Japan)
Entry Period: From 12:00 UTC on 20 January to 23:59 UTC on 20 February
Capacity: 260 teams in total (each nation has a limit of 17 teams)
Selection Method: First-come, first-served
#2 - 2nd Phase - Entry from All IMO Member Nations (except for Japan)
Entry qualifications: Team members belong to an IMO member nation (except for Japan)
*There is no nation-specific limit to apply
Entry Period: From 12:00 UTC on 1 March to 23:59 UTC on 20 March
Capacity: The remaining slots that were not filled during the 1st phase up to the limit of 260
Selection Method: By Lottery (*Lottery date is tentatively scheduled for 23 March)
*The entry page for the 2nd phase will be announced by the end of February.

Entry qualifications: None (anyone may apply)
Entry Period: From 12:00 UTC on 1 April to 23:59 UTC on 20 April
Capacity: up to the maximum number of total capacity
Selection Method: By Lottery (*Lottery date is tentatively scheduled for 21 April)

*There is no limit for each nation to apply
Entry Period: From 12:00 UTC on 3 May to 23:59 UTC on 10 May (From 21:00 on 3 May to 8:59 on 11 May Japan time)
Capacity: 48teams
Selection Method: First come first served basis

Entry qualifications:None (anyone can apply) *JMA Qualified Player registration is not required for this entry window.
Entry Period:From 12:00 UTC on 13 May to 23:59 UTC on 18 May (From 21:00 on 13 May to 8:59 on 19 May in Japan time)
Selection Method:By Lottery (*Lottery date is scheduled for 19 May, at 6pm Japan time)
Capacity:All remaining slots up to the maximum number of 96 for A. and B. above.
*If all 96 slots have already been filled, this window will not be opened. After applying, entry rights will be granted through a lottery on 19 May.

*In the following cases, please proceed from another entry window for domestic entries in Japan:
- If more than half of the team members reside in Japan or are individuals with Japanese nationality.
- If the team members are evenly distributed among countries, and the team representative is a resident of Japan.
In the following case, please apply during the "General Entry" period, which is scheduled to start on 1 April 2024:
- If players from non-IMO member nations exceed half of the team members.

Please determine your team’s nationality as follows:
If teams are composed of players from different nationalities, the highest proportion within the team shall stand for the team nationality.
If major proportions are even between two or more nations, please refer to the following examples to select the entry nation:
With 3 from Spain and 1 from Germany: Apply as a "Spain" team
With 2 from Spain, 1 from Germany and 1 from France: Apply as a "Spain" team
With 2 from Spain and 2 from Germany: Apply as an either "Spain" or "Germany" team (If
nationalities are evenly divided, please refer to the team leader's nation.)
Team of each one from Turkey, Belgium, Austria and France: Apply as an either "Turkey," "Belgium," "Austria," or "France" team (If nationalities are evenly divided, please refer to the team leader's nation.)

Q1: Can anyone participate in the Mölkky World Championship?
A1: There are capacity limits, but there are no special conditions.
Q2: Is it possible to change team members after entry?
A2: For changes in team members, please contact the following email:

Q3: Can we participate with a team of 3 members?
A3: Each team must consist of 4 to 6 members, so entry with 3 members is not accepted. However, in cases of unforeseen accidents on the day of the match, participating with one member missing is permissible. If the team changes from 4 to 3 members, the missing member will be counted as a throwing error each turn.
Q4: When is the World Championship? What is Nation Match about?
A4: “2024 Mölkky World Championship in Hakodate” is scheduled from 23 to 25 August 2024.
Day 1: 23 August (Friday) ... Opening Ceremony, Nation Match
Day 2: 24 August (Saturday) ... World Championship (Qualification Round)
Day 3: 25 August (Sunday) ... World Championship (Finals Tournament)
The World Championship main event held on 24 and 25 August, as mentioned in Q1, is an open tournament to determine the "world's best team." The nation match involves countries joining the International Mölkky Organisation, where representatives selected from each national body aim to become the "best national team."
Q5: Will there be Warm-Up matches (doubles) held as seen in previous World Championships?
A5: There are no plans to hold doubles matches at the “2024 Mölkky World Championships in Hakodate”.
However, we are currently considering other recreational or additional events. Further details will be announced later.
Q6: Is there a dress code for players?
A6: Not particularly. As long as it's comfortable for play, it's fine. Participating in the matches with attention-catching team uniforms or cosplay is also welcome. However, high-heels are not permitted for safety reasons. Please wear shoes suitable for exercise.
